🚨 Financial Education or Product Sales? A Red Flag at Bristol University 🚨
In 1979, I was misled into buying a financial product during fresher week at Bristol University—sold as "financial education" but designed to benefit the provider, not me. Decades later, history is repeating itself.
Hargreaves Lansdown is embedding itself in the university under the guise of financial wellbeing, using its '5 to Thrive' framework'—but let’s call it what it is: a product sales funnel.
No mention of human capital—the most valuable asset students have.
No guidance on salary negotiation, career growth, or financial independence.
Just a pathway to loans, insurance, savings, pensions, and investments.
This is not education. It's marketing disguised as financial literacy. Universities and students must be vigilant. Financial education should empower, not sell.
